Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
1. Who this covers
This policy explains how Nethaul (“Nethaul,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Nethaul app and website (the “Service”). Nethaul is a bookkeeping and record-keeping tool for truck owner-operators and other self-employed drivers.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and the username/display name you choose. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email associated with that account.
- Financial records you enter: trips, loads, rates, income, expenses, broker/payer names, odometer readings, pay status, and similar bookkeeping data.
- Receipt images: photos of receipts you choose to scan or attach.
- Technical data: basic, app-functional information such as device type and app settings. We do not use third-party advertising trackers and do not track you across other apps or websites.
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to operate the Service for you: to store and sync your records across your devices, generate your profit/loss and tax-prep summaries, scan receipts to auto-fill expenses, and provide support. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. How your data is stored and who processes it
Nethaul is local-first: your data is stored on your device and synced to our cloud so you can access it across devices and recover it if your phone is lost. To run the Service we use these third-party processors, who act on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and receipt-image storage.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Anthropic — AI processing of receipt images to extract expense details (see Section 5).
- Cloudflare — domain, network, and content delivery.
5. Receipt images and AI scanning
When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to Anthropic’s API solely to extract the amount, date, vendor, and category, which are returned to your account. Per Anthropic’s API terms, this data is not used to train their models. Scanning is optional — you can always enter expenses manually instead.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (see Section 7), your receipt images and personal profile are removed promptly. Because Nethaul is a bookkeeping tool, we may retain certain transaction records for up to seven (7) years after deletion where reasonably necessary to comply with tax, accounting, and legal recordkeeping obligations, after which they are deleted.
7. Your rights and choices
You can access and edit your records in the app at any time, and export all of your data as a file from Settings. You can delete your account and data directly in the app (Settings → Delete account).
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), and similar state laws. To make a request, contact us using Section 11. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under those laws.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to your cloud records is restricted to your account through row-level security, and the app offers an optional Face ID / passcode lock. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your device and login credentials secure.
9. Children
Nethaul is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
